Innovation in Training Awards

The Skills for Inclusive Digital Participation (SIDP) is a Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) funded project that will contribute to Pillar 1, Models & Enablers of UK Government’s Digital Access Programme led by FCDO with the objective of building digital literacy and basic digital skills for underserved communities in order to make inclusive digital access locally relevant, meaningful and productive.

The Skills for Inclusive Digital Participation project introduces The Innovation in Training Awards which aim to identify, recognise and document innovative practices developed by Community Level Trainers (CLTs). The story of winning innovations will be shared through British Council a SIDP Communities of Practice as well.

Deadline for submission of Innovation in Training Award applications

11 Oktober 2026

Evaluation of applications and shortlisting of 10 finalists (5 per category)

12– 19 October 2026

Interviews with 10 shortlisted finalists to validate their submissions, assess the impact of their innovation, and discuss their future plans.

20 – 26 October 2026

Announcement of Award Winners

30 October 2026

Post-Award Activities #1: certificates of recognition and Community Impact Grants disbursed to first-place winners issued.

2-13 November 2026

Community Impact Grant implemented by the 1st winners from two categories

November 2026 – January 2027

Post-Award Activities #2: winner stories developed and featured through British Council communication channels

December 2026 - March 2027
