An evening of celebration and inspiration unfolded as guests gathered for the Study UK Alumni Awards Indonesia 2026, recognising outstanding UK graduates who are driving change and making a meaningful difference in Indonesia and beyond.
Organised by the British Council, the Study UK Alumni Awards celebrate the achievements of international graduates from UK universities who are using their education to make a positive impact in their communities, industries, and countries. The awards highlight how a UK education equips graduates with the skills, global perspectives, and leadership needed to address global challenges and contribute to a better future.
Summer Xia, Country Director Indonesia and Director Southeast Asia at the British Council, said:
“We saw a 109% increase in applications from UK alumni in Indonesia, demonstrating the strength, diversity, and ambition of this community. The competition was exceptionally strong, and selecting the finalists was no easy task. This growth also reflects the deepening UK–Indonesia education partnership, following the launch of the UK–Indonesia Strategic Partnership by President Prabowo and Prime Minister Starmer.”
For the 2026 awards, more than 1,700 applications were received globally, reflecting the strong engagement of UK alumni worldwide. In Indonesia, applications increased by 109% compared to the previous year, demonstrating the growing strength and dynamism of the UK alumni community in the country.
The British Ambassador to Indonesia and Timor-Leste, Dominic Jermey, emphasised:
“I extend my warmest congratulations to all our Alumni Awards finalists. We are proud of your achievements, and your dedication to innovation, leadership, and positive social impact reflects the very best of the UK alumni community in Indonesia.”
The Study UK Alumni Awards recognise excellence across four categories:
