Muh. Agung Saputra is the Founder and CEO of Surplus Indonesia, a climate-tech platform that transforms surplus and imperfect goods into affordable essentials for communities across Indonesia. 

Raised in Papua, Agung earned his bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) before continuing his studies in the UK at Imperial College London, where he specialised in Environmental Technology at the Centre for Environmental Policy. 

Through Surplus Indonesia, his work has helped over one million people, supported more than 10,000 SMEs, rescued 10,000 tonnes of products from waste, and created over 100 green jobs, advancing circular economy innovation in Indonesia. 

Agung has received international recognition for his impact, including being named in Forbes Asia 30 Under 30 (Consumer Technology Category, 2024), the APEC Bio-Circular-Green Award (Youth Category, 2024), the Global Sustainability Award (Individual Category, 2025), and the Imperial College London Alumni Entrepreneur Award (2026). 

Under his leadership, Surplus Indonesia has also been recognised with the ASEAN Digital Awards (2025) and received an Honourable Mention in Google Play’s Apps for Good (2023).
