The British Council in Indonesia is seeking an experienced arts professional to join our team. We are expanding our arts programme and this is a key position within a small team working across theatre, music, visual arts, film, design and literature to present leading work, provide professional development and broker relationships between the Indonesian and British arts sectors.
Based in Jakarta but working across Indonesia you will work with colleagues, artists and arts organisations in Indonesia and the UK to create, develop, facilitate and deliver programmes, events and projects to British Council’s standards and stakeholders’ satisfaction.
The role involves all aspects from initiating, planning and developing programmes to creative concepts, negotiating partnerships to commissioning design, logistics and project management.
This position is offered for a fixed period of 1 year initial contract (renewable).
Key duties of this post include:
- Arts project planning and delivery
- Digital and media communications and relationship management
- Project monitoring and evaluation
- Identification of opportunities, including negotiation and discussions with potential partners and funders
- Project management and administration including financial, planning, risk and event management.
- Maintaining relationships with UK arts colleagues and arts sector
The successful applicant will need to be able to demonstrate evidence of:
- Strong industry experience of project, relationship and events management within the arts and creative industries.
- Strong experience of project design, proposal development, monitoring and evaluation activities
- Effective team working experience
- Excellent spoken and written Bahasa Indonesia and English
- Willingness and ability to travel within Indonesia
- Excellent project implementation, financial monitoring and reporting skills
