Indonesia: Labtanya 
UK: New Practice 

Since 2017, Labtanya’s Our Commons has promoted food and urban community resilience, strengthened by a 2021 British Council grant with Deveron Projects (UK). With the 2025 grant, the project will expand through an immersive and educational board game exploring food resilience. In partnership with architectural studio New Practice (UK), a residency will help develop UK-Indonesia creative exchange and deepen the understanding of how local and urban communities.

Bombo is a collaborative project from Makassar, South Sulawesi.

Visual developer Rais Rice began his exploration in multimedia production by practicing photography and graphic design while studying information studies at Universitas Telkom, Bandung. Later, he expanded his skill to film, visual installation, and video mapping production.  

Sound artist Reza Enem played music with his indie progressive folk band Theory of Discoustic after completing his study at Universitas Fajar, Makassa and previously worked as a photojournalist for Jakarta Biz Daily.

UK: Design Ecologies Ltd

Indonesia: Navetta Studio

Inspired by Donna Haraway's 'making kin' concept, 'Kinship through rice' integrates cultural narratives and reimagines relationships between humans, the environment, and non-human entities through design. Navetta Studio and Design Ecologies Ltd will explore our connection to the land through eating, dwelling, and storytelling with rice. The project promotes environmental stewardship, fosters cultural empowerment and connects people worldwide.

'Marginalised Women's Voices on Climate Emergency in Sulawesi and Wales' will address the global impact of climate emergency by connecting two communities across continents and cultures. It emphasises the need to tackle climate change at an international level, while using grassroots initiatives.

Humanitarian Engineering at the University of Warwick

Marie has loved building things since childhood, leading her to study architecture. She believes that her Master’s will help her to create social impact and address global humanitarian challenges through engineering. She hopes to work in the area of planning and public infrastructure, making cities in the Philippines more resilient, humane, and liveable places for everyone.

Nafisah Mohd Rafiq, a research engineer specializing in aerospace materials, will be pursuing the MSc Energy Policy program at Imperial College London. She aims to integrate scientific methodologies with policy frameworks to address engineering challenges effectively, thereby enhancing her contributions to her home country's community.

Director, Indonesia-Britain Education Centre (IBEC)

Satyadhi Hendra, with over 25 years of experience in the education business, began his career as the Personal Assistant to the Managing Director of KING'S Group of Education. Simultaneously, he worked as a junior counsellor at IBEC, receiving training from the British Council in both Indonesia and Manchester. Since 2003, he has served as the company's director.

Sonic Moves is a project that brings together electronic music and inclusive dance to create performances led by disabled women. It involves one disabled dance artist from the UK and five disabled artists from Bali, working together to develop a performance that mixes movement with music technology. The project will start with online workshops and continue with a five-day residency in Bali.

Devina Sivagurunathan is the Executive Director of MABECS, Malaysia’s most experienced UK education agency. Devina has 20 years of student recruitment experience in Malaysia and the UK. She was an International Officer at The University of Warwick and SOAS, University of London. She had a short foray into the world of football when she spent a year as the International Marketing Manager at UCFB. 

UK: Scott Wilson, BEAST

Indonesia: Rumah Gagas

Panjago means 'guardian'. We aim to protect the vibrancy of our traditions while renewing them in international artistic collaborations. This project will combine the traditional movement art of Silek with 360-degree immersive electronic music and improvisation. ‘Live coding' techniques and interactive electronic music systems will create 'surround sound' over the 32-channel BEASTdome system.
