She realised that issues like access to care or medication adherence weren’t just clinical problems but were also shaped by behaviours, beliefs, and environments. With her MSc, she plans to become a researcher conducting studies that not only identify problems but also inform better healthcare systems, creating solutions that resonate with people's lived realities.

Eloise Yemima Sari is driven by a deep concern for climate change and aspires to apply her expertise in computer science and mathematics to mitigate its effects in Indonesia. She plans to leverage data science to address the complex challenges posed by the country’s vast area and population. After completing her studies, Eloise aims to become an environmental data scientist, contributing to the growing demand for such expertise.

Shelia Anjarani is a lecturer and researcher in English Language Education at Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto (UMP), Indonesia. She is a board director of iTELL (Indonesia Technology-Enhanced Language Learning), leading teacher training, workshops, and seminars on technology integration in ELT across Indonesia. She has published research in national and international journals and authored three books on technology-supported English language teaching, including Teaching Speaking with AI.

Mr. Antonius Tanan is a Senior Director of Ciputra Group and the President of UCEC (Universitas Ciputra Entrepreneurship Center). He is currently a doctoral student of Athabasca University of Canada, and a member of the board of trustees of Habitat for Humanity Indonesia. Since 2005, he has been intensively assisting DR. (HC). Ir. Ciputra to spread entrepreneurship in Indonesia and also in some other countries to empower the Indonesian migrant workers.

Encaustic Wax and Batik: Reflecting Environmental Fragility through Cross-Cultural Art

This collaborative project bridges traditional encaustic painting and Indonesian batik, uniting two ancient wax-based art forms to address shared environmental challenges. The residency fosters cultural exchange, blending batik’s resist dyeing with encaustic’s layered painting to highlight ecological issues. Following the programme, a public education module on encaustic art will be developed in Indonesia, encouraging community-building. 

 

Gamelan Voices: Scottish-Indonesian improvisations

Indonesia: Perempuan Komponis: Forum & Lab 

UK: Glasgow Improvisers Orchestra 

Indonesian collective Perempuan Komponis and the Glasgow Improvisers Orchestra (GIO) are joined by the Naga Mas gamelan ensemble, in a distinctive cross-cultural collaboration. Blending experimental vocal traditions, gamelan and GIO’s improvisational music, it explores new musical languages in experimental and traditional forms. Four Perempuan Komponis members will join GIO at GIOfest XVII in Glasgow.

Harry Anderson is Deputy Director for Policy and Global Engagement at Universities UK International (UUKi), the body which supports over 140 UK universities with their international ambitions. 

As Deputy Director, Harry oversees UUKi’s work across a range of policy areas, including International Mobility, Global Research & Innovation, and Transnational Education (TNE).
