Jifei (Michael) Ge

Michael Ge has over 20 years’ experience in student recruitment and partnership development, primarily in China. He has led, and been heavily involved in, establishing the university’s flagship Transnational Education (TNE) joint programmes and joint institutes over the past decade. Michael has recently assumed responsibility for TNE development across wider Asia for the university.

Joseph Hopkinson

Artist, Ceramicist, Wales Arts International

Hopkinson is a Welsh ceramic artist with a keen exploration in ceramic bodies. Among his works, he is able to convey the medium into coarsely textured masses, resembling artifactual relics seemingly discovered in archaeological sites. He graduated recently in 2015 with an MA in ceramics from the Cardiff Metropolitan University. He has been his JCCB4 Residency program in Timbul Rahardjo – studio, Kasongan, Yogyakarta, October 2016.

Josette Chiang is a Chinese-British artist. Her work includes drawing, sound, text, performance, video, installation and sculpture. Referencing geology, mythology, Chinese cosmology and systems of measurement, her recent work is about the perception and nature of change within the built and natural environment. She creates narratives that communicate the interplay between culture, science and landscape. She explores ways that social interaction contributes to emotional experiences of place.

Kevin is Neu! Reekie!’s co-founder and co-director; a Robert Louis Stevenson Award winner; founder and Editor-in-Chief of the infamous Rebel Inc publishing house (known for launching the careers of writers such as Irvine Welsh, Alan Warner and Laura Hird; working with Howard Marks, Charles Bukowski and Damien Hirst; and their Rebel Inc Classics range).

Kyi Zin Thant is an experienced English educator with a Master's in TEFL and TESOL from the University of Exeter. She holds CELTA, CiSELT, and TKT certifications and has led educational projects like Shakespeare Lives in You and Connecting Classrooms. A regular ELTeCs presenter, she founded The Training Network in 2019, offering curriculum design, exam prep, and teacher development programs. Kyi is committed to professional growth in English teaching and actively engages in community work.

Dr. Laily Amin Fajariyah is an innovative English teacher at SMP Negeri 5 Panggang, Yogyakarta, since 2010. She is the chair of the Jogja English Teachers Association (JETA). Passionate about improving English education, she conducts classroom research and develops new teaching methods and materials. A frequent presenter at national and international conferences, she specialises in differentiated instruction, digital storytelling, ICT integration, and language assessment.
