A fusion between film, theatre, technology and empathy, In My Shoes: Dancing with Myself is a Virtual Reality work that will be presented at Screendocs in Jakarta, as well as at our Digital Design Weekend and Festival Film Dokumenter in Yogyakarta. [LINKS]

In My Shoes is a true story of artist Jane Gauntlett and her interactions with her friends, strangers and epilepsy.

The piece has been used in schools, universities and medical training to both educate and challenge preconceptions around brain damage.

Jane will be discussing her work in theatre, film-making, empathy and disability at these events.

Jane is a writer for film and theatre, with an eclectic portfolio of working in the charity sector (Mencap, Mind), working as a freelance creative producer and collaborating with other artists and organisations.

Jane began to use technology as an alternative method of communication, her first piece In My Shoes: Waking in Slough  It helped to break the boundaries between her and her family and friends, it became both a performance and an educational tool, it has taken her on many adventures.
