British Council – Prudential Creative Education Programme 2015
The British Council Creative Education Programme, a part of the Prudential Eye Programme sponsored by Prudential will be held in three cities in Indonesia; Medan, Surabaya and Jakarta by the British Council Indonesia Foundation.
All activities in the two-hour workshop for the Upper Secondary School (SMA and SMK) English teachers are designed to complement the Visual Literacy objectives of 21th century learning competencies. Essential to these competencies are the skills of critical thinking and analysis. Each activity supports the development of the receptive and productive skills belonging to Literacy Development. Listening, reading and viewing are receptive skills required for the making of meaning from ideas or information. Speaking, writing and representing are production skills that enable the creation of meaning.
As a result of attending the workshop, participants will be able to integrate visual art to support skills development in a wide range of education contexts; incorporate the key elements of Visual Literacy, critical thinking & analysis into lesson plans; and promote accountable student talk to make thinking visible.
