Introduction

Technology is no longer optional in the modern English Language Teaching (ELT) classroom—it is essential. However, in the rapid shift toward digital tools, there is a growing risk of losing the human connection that sits at the heart of education. In Southeast Asia, where classroom realities are complex and diverse, the challenge is to ensure technology serves pedagogy, not the other way around.

This webinar in association with iTELL Indonesia entitled “Humanising technology in teacher education,” will explore how we can leverage digital resources to enhance personalised, collaborative, and reflective learning. By focusing on human-centric design, we move beyond mere tool adoption to foster emotional intelligence, critical reflection, and ethical practice in teacher development.

Who is this webinar for?

This event is designed for English language teachers, teacher educators, and academic managers across Southeast Asia (Indonesia, Myanmar, Thailand, Viet Nam, Philippines and Malaysia), particularly those looking for sustainable ways to integrate technology into their unique local contexts.

Key highlights:

●        Analyze existing ICT integration models through the lens of the teachers.

●        Discover replicable methods for using technology to facilitate peer mentorship and authentic, practice-based learning.

●        Join a vital conversation on ethical challenges to ensure inclusive teacher education.

●        Gain insights into sustainable, human-focused approaches to professional development that strengthen the entire school ecosystem.
