British Council in Indonesia launches the second year of a prestigious award celebrating outstanding achievements of the UK’s international alumni. Indonesia is one of 14 locations honoured to be hosting the Alumni Awards 2017, alongside Egypt, Ghana, Greece, India, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Turkey and the USA.

The Alumni Awards celebrate the exceptional achievements of UK alumni and showcase the impact and value of a UK education. Award winners and finalists are leaders in their fields who have used their experience of studying at a UK university to make a positive contribution to their communities, professions and countries. The Alumni Awards raise the profile of finalists and winners, recognising them for their achievements and giving them a platform from which to share their success and inspire others.

Who can apply?

This year, the Alumni Awards are open to alumni currently residing in any of the 14 participating countries who have studied in the UK, at an officially recognised provider of UK university degree level study, within the last 15 years.

If you, or someone you know, studied in the UK and have gone on to achieve exceptional success, apply or nominate from 7 September 2016. Nominations close 16 October; applications close on 31 October 2016. Award finalists will be announced in early January 2017 and the winners will be revealed at prestigious award ceremonies between January and March 2017.

Finalists and award winners have the opportunity to raise their international profile, expand their professional networks, and enhance their careers.

What are the awards categories?

There are three award categories:

  1. Professional Achievements Award. This award recognises alumni who have distinguished themselves through exemplary leadership and achievements in their professional industry, and who can demonstrate the highest level of integrity and character in their professional career.
